The wrist is the area near the hand. It consists of a group of eight bones, the carpal bones, which articulate with the forearm at the carpocarpal joint, or carpal joint, between the carpus and carpal bones, and distally with the metacarpal bones. The area also includes the carpal tunnel and anatomical snuffbox.
