Shoulder

The shoulders are a complex part of the body. They are the most complex, flexible and mobile joints, which are made up of multiple bones, muscles and tendons.

Its anatomical complexity, the wide range of motion, in all directions, and the direct relationship with the scapula and its movement, give mobility that allows the performance of many daily activities.

Brief description

Biceps tendinitis and more specifically tendinitis of the long head of the biceps brachii muscle is the occurrence of inflammation in the extensor tendon of the muscle.

Symptom

Pain in the anterior surface of the shoulder, pain – tenderness in the region of the biceps groove and difficulty in performing movements.

Treatment

Massage techniques, use of physical therapy means such as electrotherapy, TENS, ultrasound, use of elastic Kinesio Tape.

Brief description

The supraspinatus is part of the rotator cuff of the shoulder, whose function is to elevate and medial-external rotate the upper extremity.

Symptom

Pain in the shoulder area that radiates to the elbow, neck and shoulder blade, pain that often worsens during sleep, avoidance of using the upper limb due to pain, burning sensation in the upper limb.

Treatment

Manual Therapy mobilizations of the shoulder girdle, but also of the thoracic spine.

Brief description

It is essentially an injury to one of the muscles that make up the rotator cuff. It can cause a dull ache in the shoulder, which is often worsened by using the arm away from the body.

Symptom

Pain in the shoulder area that can radiate to the elbow, frequent aggravation of symptoms during sleep, inability to lift and internal-external rotation of the upper limb.

Treatment

Treatment can be either conservative or surgical, depending on the extent of the rupture.

Brief description

Shoulder tendinopathy is the most common cause of chronic shoulder pain and requires immediate treatment and specialized treatment, as it can create serious problems in the patient’s daily life.

Symptom

Severe pain and/or tenderness around the shoulder, stiffness leading to restriction of movement, swelling of the tendon near the joint,

Treatment

Manual Therapy, Kinesio Taping, Medical Training, Kinetic Control, Use of Physiotherapy means.

Brief description

Traditionally, the term Impingement Syndrome has been used to describe compression of the soft tissues in the subacromial space (ie a space located below the acromion, in the shoulder).

Treatment

Mobilizations (Manual Therapy), Kinesio Tape, therapeutic exercises
