Therapeutic Exercise

Treatment description

Exercise is a catalyst in the patient’s recovery, but also in avoiding a new injury.

What it cures

Upgrading patients’ functionality.

Decreased endurance, muscle strength and flexibility significantly affect a person’s daily functioning. Reduced functionality is even more pronounced at older ages, when the body weakens, but also in patients recovering from injuries and following a physical therapy program.

Lack of physical activity, sedentary lifestyle and poor posture at work are factors that can lead to dysfunctions of the neuromuscular system and musculoskeletal pain.

Therapeutic Exercise, also known as Medical Training Therapy (MTT) has the main goal of improving the functionality of patients through their active participation. The core of MTT consists of customized therapeutic exercises that are tailored to each individual’s needs.

An essential element of any treatment program is a rationally designed set of exercises. However, this is often neglected or applied superficially, with negative consequences for patients. This year, the participation of people in sports activities increases, often with a lack of sufficient attention, as a result of which injuries are visibly increased.

The solution to this situation is presented through MTT, which, unlike ready-made ‘frozen’ solutions, offers customized exercise programs that adapt to the patient’s progress. It is always done under the supervision and guidance of the physical therapist. This ensures the effectiveness and safety of treatment, encouraging continuous patient improvement.

What is achieved with therapeutic exercise?

Each patient, based on the clinical evaluation, enters a specialized exercise program, which has specific goals.

  • Pain Relief: Appropriate exercise helps reduce pain and reduce the frequency of symptoms.
  • Improved Functionality & Range of Motion: Increases the range of motion of the joints and improves the elasticity of the soft tissues. Adaptations in the muscular and nervous system improve the body’s response.
  • Strength & Endurance: MTT strengthens muscles, protecting against future injuries.
  • Proprioception & Balance: Critical parameters for injury prevention such as proprioception and balance are improved.
  • Returning the patient to his daily work & social activities
  • At the same time, the respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous system, and metabolism are improved.
