Physiotherapy at home

Treatment description

In cases where the patient finds it difficult to go to the Physiotherapy Centre or is not allowed to move, one of our team members can visit you at your place so that we can start the physiotherapies immediately with consistency and effectiveness.

What it cures

Physiotherapy at home is mainly indicated in cases such as:

  • Post-operative rehabilitation e.g. hip/knee arthroplasty, spinal surgery etc.
  • Loss/reduction of mobility after a fall mainly in elderly people
  • Musculoskeletal injuries that make mobility difficult e.g. acute lumbago, fractures etc.
  • Neurological diseases e.g. stroke, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, etc.
  • Respiratory diseases e.g. COPD, respiratory infections, etc.

In cases where it is difficult for the patient to travel to the Physiotherapy Centre or where the patient is not allowed to travel, one of our team members can visit you at your place.
Home Physiotherapy is mainly indicated in cases such as:

During the home visit the Physiotherapist will take your medical history and, in consultation with your treating physician, will draw up a rehabilitation programme tailored to your needs.

Our highly trained staff will suggest any adjustments you may need to your daily routine in the home, so that you can be as independent and functional as possible in your own space.

The home visit aims to ensure the safety, accessibility and functionality of your home, tailored to your needs. Some of the advice we will give you following an assessment of your situation in your own space will include safe and easy access to the toilet/bathroom, getting out of bed safely and unhindered, the correct ergonomics of your chair, moving around the home safely, fitting handrails where necessary and using stairs safely.

In collaboration with your treating physician, we will recommend solutions that promote independence within the home and a faster return to your daily activities.
